The Good Mind

Co-presented by the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, the South East Chicago Commission, and Doc Films. This is the Chicago-area premiere of The Good Mind. The Good Mind is the Onondaga and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy) philosophy and way of life. When the Peacemaker brought his message 1,000 years ago to the shores of sacred Onondaga Lake, he united warring peoples with a system of governance based on using the Good Mind to make decisions not only for the present, but for the next seven generations. Please stay for post-film discussion with filmmaker Gwendolen Cates, who will discuss The Good Mind as well as her upcoming film about Standing Rock. After the program, enjoy Conservation International's virtual reality short film experience, "Under the Canopy."
